Athlete Expectations at Major GamesAthlete Expectations at Major Games Provincial Games General Athletes will be away from home for 4 days Athletes must be comfortable with minimal parental contact while at games Athletes have to be prepared to provide complete self care in terms of personal hygiene, and cleanliness Athletes must be comfortable in a structured environment.

Provincial Games Endorsement ProcedureProvincial Games Endorsement Procedure Athlete Endorsement Special Olympics Ontario will identify the athletes to advance to Provincial Games using the Athlete Selection Criteria in Sport and Competition Policy 7000-304 and 7000-306. District Developer (DD) will seek endorsements for each athlete. DD will request the community club coach / Educator (school based athletes) complete the Athlete Endorsement Form for each athlete identified from their club / school.

Quota Allocation for Provincial GamesQuota Allocation for Provincial Games Quotas for provincial games will be based upon the number of athletes that participated in the provincial qualifier in the year preceding the provincial games. The quota will be proportionally divided amongst all conference competitions based on participation at the provincial qualifier.

Types of Major GamesTypes of Major Games Provincial Games Organized by the Provincial Games Organizing Committee and Special Olympics Ontario, Provincial Games brings athletes together from across the Province. Athletes must compete at the designated Provincial Qualifier for their sport specific conference in order to be identified to attend Provincial Games.
