Community Fundraiser
The Community Fundraising Coordinator ensures financial sustainability by coordinating fundraising efforts. This role involves recruiting a fundraising committee, developing a fundraising plan, and acting as a liaison between the community and Special Olympics Ontario.
Main Responsibilities
- Recruit and lead a fundraising team.
- Develop a fundraising plan with the treasurer and committee.
- Act as a resource for community and provincial fundraising efforts.
- Create strategies to meet fundraising goals (e.g., grants, donations, events).
- Serve as a liaison between the community and Special Olympics Ontario.
- Present fundraising materials to the committee.
- Monitor fundraising activities for compliance and positive image.
- Attend community meetings and report on fundraising activities.
- Utilize available fundraising resources.
- Maintain the Special Olympics email address.
- Collaborate with provincial staff on local fundraising pages.
Annual Responsibilities
- Implement and review the fundraising plan.
- Organize and execute fundraising events.
- Engage with potential sponsors and partners.
- Ensure activities align with policies and maintain a positive image.
- Provide updates at community meetings.
- Support National and Provincial fundraisers:
- Tim Hortons Donut Campaign (January/February)
- Empire Checkstand Campaign (Spring)
- Polar Plunge (Winter)
- Other events (e.g., motionball, OHL Big Ticket Game, CF24)
