Community Athlete Representative
An Athlete Representative on the Council serves to advocate for and support athletes in their community.
Main Responsibilities:
- Engaging with the community to identify and address issues
- Bringing these issues to the council for discussion and resolution
- Sharing information about fundraisers and events with fellow athletes
- Assisting athletes in participating in fundraising events
- Delivering speeches at events to engage potential volunteers
- Supporting the community in additional ways as directed by the council
Annual Responsibilities:
- Election: Elected as an athlete representative
- Council Meetings: Attend at least 80% of council meetings in a calendar year
- Community Engagement: Make at least three appearances at local programs to share information and collect feedback for the council
- Public Speaking: Deliver speeches as needed throughout the year
By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Athlete Representative ensures that athletes’ voices are heard and their needs are addressed within the community.
