5 Pin Bowling 

5-pin Bowling is a competitive sport in which a player (the "bowler") rolls a bowling ball down a wooden or synthetic lane with the objective of scoring points by knocking down as many pins as possible.

Sport Status

5-Pin is recognized Provincially and Nationally as a Special Olympics sport. Athletes can compete in club level matches right up to SOC National Games.

Sport Season

5-Pin is a Winter sport for SOO, the season usually runs from October to May.

Athlete to Coach Ratios

The ratios are minimum athlete to coach requirements for not only Conference competitions, Provincial, and National Games, but for all Special Olympics Ontario competitions and practices. They ensure that athletes are safe and supervised at all times.

SOC Rules English / French

For all competitions bowlers should be in proper bowling attire which includes slacks or walking shorts with a straight hem (no jeans , sweatpants or yoga pants) and a collared shirt. Women are permitted to wear knee-length skirts. The entire team, including coaches, must be uniformly dressed in the same colour bottoms and shirts.
