7000-213 Forfeit Policy
Review Date: February 2021
Effective Date: June 2021
A forfeit occurs when a team is unable (or refueses) to meet the basic standards for playing the games (ie unable to meet minimum roster size, insufficient athlete:coach ratio, etc) either before the game begins or as a result of actions that happen during the match.
When a team refuses to play a scheduled game or forfeits a game before a scheduled game is complete the following policy will be used to determine the points awarded to each team.
This policy may also be applied when a team does not arrive at the start of their scheduled game, to be applied at the discretion of the competition organizer or competition host.
If a game is started and forfeited prior to the completion of the game then the following will be used to determine the points to be awarded to each team:
- If at the time of forfeit, the team that is going to be awarded the game win is ahead, the forfeit score shall be applied. If the winning team is ahead by a score greater than the forfeit score, the greater score will be recorded.
- If the team to which the game is awarded was not ahead the score will be recorded using the forfeit scores below
If a team refuses to play a scheduled game the following scores shall be awarded to each team:
