    Hi Peggy,

Thanks for the feedback, we’ll add it to our request list. It may be a little further down the list given that the initial Emergency Contact is already there, but we’ll make sure its added to the request list.

    Hi MaryAnn,

Yes, this applies province wide, which means that everyone can upload their PRC to the system. The requirement for a PRC w/ VSS within the last year has not changed, we’re simply making it possible for people to upload their checks.

As an FYI, this is the first step towards making PRC renewals a practical part of general operating procedures, but that is not a requirement in our region as of yet.

    Hi everyone,

Just going to weigh in here and say that there is no intention for fields to be used for cross purposes. The Donations email field has a very clear purpose as it is intended for use in DDMS (the Donations Management System) and is not intended for community use. Because Special Olympics Ontario is not using DDMS, the field labels for you all previously were ambiguous (email 1, 2, 3). They’ve now been made explicit to make it easier to see what is on file for each participant.

With this in mind, and to MaryAnn’s point, if communities have been putting alternate contacts into that field, we will (and we can do this centrally) bulk move those addresses over to the Alternate Contact field where they belong. If there are instances where both the donations email and the alternate contact field are both in use we’ll make a note of that and get back to you on those records.

The Portal allows members to control both their Donation and Membership Profile. In Ontario we are currently only using it for a single purpose, but that is the reason that that field exists. When the request was put out by us in Ontario to make sure that all of the email fields were made available, there was a corresponding request in other chapters (most of which are using DDMS) to make sure the Donation Email was also made available. In most cases this email address is the same as the primary contact.

I hope that clears things up a little bit. We’ve noted the issue and we’ll get back to everyone here with an update as we make that correction.
