Be part of the movement: Join us in making a difference

At Special Olympics Ontario, volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We rely on volunteers at every level to ensure that every athlete receives quality sports training and competition experiences. Our volunteers inspire, guide, and coach our athletes, fostering a community where inclusion and participation thrive. Through volunteering, not only do our athletes benefit, but volunteers often find their lives transformed by the experience.

Our Mission

Special Olympics Ontario is dedicated to enriching the lives of Ontarians with an intellectual disability through sport.

Volunteering Roles within Special Olympics

Special Olympics Ontario offers various opportunities for individuals to get involved. Volunteers can contribute at the club, community, district, and provincial levels, with possibilities for advancement to national and international opportunities. Whether you have a few hours to spare or can commit year-round, there's a role for you.
Note: Regular volunteering is open to individuals aged 14 and older. Inquire about opportunities for junior volunteers aged 14 to 18.

"The relationships I've developed with the athletes and coaches over the past 10 years are some of the most special ones I have. It's very rewarding to help the athletes achieve their goals and we have a lot of fun at practices and tournaments. I look forward to the start of a new season just as much as the athletes do."

Michael Douglas, Powerlifting Coach
