The Special Olympics Canada National Summer Games were held in Antigonish, Nova Scotia from July 31st – August 4th. Congratulations to all members of Team Ontario for their outstanding performance, bringing home a total of 372 medals! What an accomplishment! None of this would be possible without the commitment and dedication of the coaches, volunteers and mission staff. Athletes trained hard for many months leading up to the games, which was clearly showcased in the results and number of medals that made it back to Ontario.
It was evident that East Coast hospitality was enjoyed by everyone. The weather was a little on the warm side, forcing outdoor competition to be suspended during the afternoon hours, with play delayed until early evening. That didn't discourage the athletes from doing their best and making us proud!
