Prejesh Sayanthan was introduced to Special Olympics through a leadership class at Albert Campbell C.I. in Toronto. After his first time helping and volunteering at the school soccer qualifier in October, he was hooked! Prejesh came to practice every day to work with the athletes, joining at every opportunity. He recruited other friends and started a grade 12 leadership group. This group comes to every Special Olympics event hosted at Albert Campbell, whether it’s on Wednesday evenings, Saturday events, or school qualifiers.
Outside of Special Olympics events, Prejesh has started a weekly reading time with the athletes, who truly look up to Prejesh and are genuinely happy whenever they see him. Special Olympics athletes at Albert Campbell can count on Prejesh to chat with them, hang out, and overall be a true friend.
