Harvey Arcangeletti has been an amazing athlete with Special Olympics since 1975, starting at fifteen years old. He’s participated in many sports over the years including athletics, swimming, floor hockey, softball and bowling. His hard work and dedication have led him to several Provincial and National Games. Harvey has represented Special Olympics Canada at World Games in Baton Rouge (1983), Minneapolis (1991), New Haven (1995), North Carolina (1999), Japan (2005), and was a member of Team Ontario at the National Games in Halifax (1994) and many more competitions.
Outside of competing, Harvey represented SOO at the Final Leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the 2001 World Winter Games in Anchorage, Alaska. Harvey was recognized as SOO/SOC Male Athlete of the Year in 1996 and was inducted into the Sault Sainte Marie Hall of Fame in 2007. Harvey is an amazing individual, and well-liked by his teammates. He helps guide other athletes in their technique to the best of his and their ability. Harvey is always one of the first to volunteer in any extra-curricular activities for Special Olympics like Torch Runs, Polar Plunges, puck drop and playing in the warm-up game at Greyhounds games.
