Special Olympics Swimmer in 2022 Niagara games

Gael Shindano is a Special Olympics athlete from Ottawa, Ontario, who has been participating in sports such as Athletics, Nordic Skiing, Snowshoeing and Swimming for 12 years! Gael always looks forward to competing at events, where he is able to be active and meet new people. Special Olympics means a lot to Gael, as he explains that it is one of the only places where he is able to meet people and make friends who accept him without any judgement. Some of Gael’s best memories from his many years involved in Special Olympics were made by participating in various competitions. His most memorable events being the 2016 Provincial Spring Games in Guelph, Ontario and the 2018 National Games in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

Gael would like to thank all of Special Olympics’ sponsors and donors and explains how much their support means to him and his fellow athletes. The support provided by sponsors and donors allows Gael and his teammates to enjoy playing their favourite sports.
