2019 Provincial Floor Hockey Championships

The 2019 Provincial Floor Hockey Championships will take place May 14 – 16, and will host 18 teams from across Ontario along with five invitational teams from across Canada.  Over 400 athletes and coaches will be participating in the three-day tournament.  The competition will be held at The International Centre in Mississauga (Hall 5).  Teams competing in these Championships will have the opportunity to advance to the 2020 National Winter Games in Thunder Bay, and subsequently the 2021 World Games in Sweden.

As a celebration for the Special Olympics Ontario 50th Anniversary, the Provincial Floor Hockey Championships will be hosted in conjunction with the 2019 Invitational Youth Games, where over 2,000 participants from Canada, the US, and around the world will come together to compete and celebrate.  Opening and Closing Ceremonies will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Other points of interest:
  • 2009 and 2017 World Games Silver Medalists – the Guelph Buns Masters Rollers – will be participating in the Championships, making a third attempt to advance to National Games and World Games.
  • 2013 World Games Silver Medalists – the Newmarket Ringers – will be making a second attempt to advance to National Games and World Games.
  • 2016 National Games Silver Medalist – the Scarboro Cyclones – are back to defend their provincial title and advance to National Games.

2019 Provincial Bowling Championships

The 2019 Provincial Bowling Championships will take place June 6th and 7th.  250 bowlers and 75 coaches will be attending the competition, which will take place at Nebs Fun World in Oshawa.  Competition and Opening Ceremony will begin on June 6th at 11am.  Final medal presentations will take place at 3:00pm on June 7th. The Ontario 5 pin Bowling Association is proud to be a part of this event.

Other points of interest:
  • 2016 National Gold Medal winners from Simcoe, Ontario – Korissa Hammond and Kendall Steinhoff, along with the 2016 National Gold Medal winner, Jaclyn Passek from Woodstock, Ontario – will be at the competition to defend their provincial titles.
  • North Eastern Ontario will be bringing the largest team with 50 bowlers.  The team will include 2016 National Games Silver Medalists: Melissa Turner, from Timmins; Tony Pegoraro, from Sudbury East; and Angele Jodouin, from West Nipissing.
