Traditional teams: all athletes must be students with an intellectual disability or challenge. We are offering both recreational and competitive competition streams

Unified teams: athletes with and without an intellectual disability. Remember: you can have a max. 4. We are offering recreational and competitive competition streams.

What Type of Traditional Team?
Teams in the recreational category have athletes that are relatively new to the sport or are just there for fun and do not want to compete/advance to the 2024 school championships. Competitive Traditional athletes are intending to compete at the school championships if selected or have a mid-high skill level. Note Competition Streams Are Intended to Provide Better Competition Experiences for all. However, in smaller communities where there are less teams, competition streams may need to be combined. This will only be done if absolutely necessary*

Unified partners are allowed to score, pass, shoot and defend. However, they cannot take over or dominate the game. Coaches are responsible for ensuring the correct involvement of their players.
What Level Is Your Team
- Supportive (Athletes are learning or new to the sport and unified partners take on a more facilitator role
- Competitive (All Athletes have a good knowledge of game and skill and unified patterns and traditional athletes will impact the game equally)
Note Unified teams will all be classified under the same unified division and rules. This Level indicator is to help us make appropriate Divisions
