This commitment will be based upon the Code of Conduct of Special Olympics Ontario and on the following terms: BEFORE THE GAMES: Be available to attend the 2024 National Winter Games from February 26 – March 3, 2024 Attend Team Ontario Coach Training Camps as required. Plan the sport specific training camps in conjunction with the Chef de Mission and Team Manager. Attend mission staff meetings, GOC conference calls as needed. Maintain regular contact with assigned coaches, athletes, their parents/guardians and community coach. Maintain regular contact with Chef de Mission and Team Manager as needed. To assist the Chef de Mission and Team Manager in travel and uniform logistics. Ensure all required coach certifications are completed by November 26, 2023. AT THE GAMES: Be responsible for the supervision and wellbeing of up to five (5) athletes for the duration of the Games. Supervise athletes during travel to and from games. Act as a role model for all Team Ontario Members, exemplifying all of the qualities espoused in Expectations of Team Ontario Coaches Conduct one-self in accordance with the conditions outlined in Special Olympics Ontario Policy 13.3.2 Travelling Teams - Roles and Responsibilities, and Policy 9.3.4 Code of Conduct. Abide by the RULES OF CONDUCT established for Team Ontario Members. Attend all required functions at the Games, i.e. Opening Ceremonies, Awards Presentations, etc., representing Special Olympics Ontario with distinction. Ensure that the athlete and coaches code of conduct is abided by all Team Ontario Members. To ensure that all coaches are effectively performing their roles and responsibilities both before and during the Games. Travel to and from the Games with Team Ontario and stay on site at the Athletes Village with team. Attend all Team Management meetings while at the games. Be on call 24 hours a day. AFTER THE GAMES: Submit all requested written reports, and/or evaluations to the Chef De Mission after the Games.
