Job Title: UCS Sports Program Coordinator 

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

The Sport Program Administrative Coordinator will support a range of programmatic initiatives planned for Special Olympics schools across Ontario, including the Unified Champion Schools initiative. This role contributes to outreach efforts, school and youth development, resource creation, and overall program growth in priority communities across the province. 

A core focus of this position will be the planning and execution of Special Olympics Ontario School Competitions, which provide inclusive, high-quality sport experiences for students with and without intellectual disabilities. Competitions span elementary (ages 4–12), secondary (ages 13–21), and post-secondary (21+) levels, with sports including basketball, soccer, bocce, track & field, and floorball. These events are delivered in collaboration with host schools and school boards. 

The Sport Program Administrative Coordinator will play a key role in organizing school sport qualifiers across Ontario, with a focus on their local region. They will also contribute to program growth, stakeholder engagement, and the launch of new inclusive strategies.  

Tasks and Responsibilities for this position may include: 

  • Update contact lists, school resources, and promotional materials. 
  • Track and manage registration platforms and participation data. 
  • Support payment tracking and processing for participation fees. 
  • Assist with tracking and reviewing school submissions for track & field qualifications. 
  • Support the review and organization of Unified Champion Schools (UCS) reports. 
  • Provide administrative support for school championships, including: 
  • Registration tracking and data entry 
  • Accreditation preparation 
  • Medal stringing and sorting 
  • Equipment testing and packing 
  • Team package assembly 
  • Accommodation coordination and roster support
