To ensure that athletes compete at the best of their ability during the divisioning round, the maximum performance rule (MPR) is implemented at Major Games.  At all other levels of competition MPR should be tracked and athletes and teams should be warned of any violations. <\/span><br \/>\n\t\t<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:black; font-family:Arial; font-size:12pt\">The Maximum Performance Rule ensures that there is no more than a 15% difference in performance between an athlete&#8217;s seeding time\/score and final performance. If an athlete exceeds their divisioning performance by more than 15%, and as a result should have been placed in a different final division, the athlete would be disqualified.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:black; font-family:Arial; font-size:12pt\">If a coach is of the opinion that their athlete has not competed to the best of their ability in the divisioning round, and may be in danger of violating the MPR, they have the options of:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-left: 39pt\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family:Arial; font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"color:black\">Submit a faster time or longer distance\/greater height conceding the qualifying score<\/span><br \/>\n\t\t\t<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:black; font-family:Arial; font-size:12pt\">Concede the event qualifying time\/distance\/height<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color:black; font-family:Arial; font-size:12pt\">Ask to have the event re-run (if applicable)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial; font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"color:black\">NOTE: The Maximum Performance Rule is only used at Provincial, National and World Games.<\/span><br \/>\n\t\t<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial; font-size:12pt\"><strong>Team Sports<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial; font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"color:black\">Divisioning games are conducted to ensure that teams compete against teams of a similar ability level in their final competition.
