Protest and Appeal Procedure
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

All protests must be submitted by the Head Coach to the Competition Host within 30 minutes following the posting of results.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The protest fee of $50.00 must accompany all protests.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Any discrepancies in results (as posted” should first be checked with the Results Centre.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The protest committee will be comprised of:
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The Competition Host or their Designate
    \n<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The SOO Representative at the Competition
    \n<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. An individual with Sport Technical Knowledge (Head Official if applicable)
    \n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The results of the protest committee will be rendered to the Head Coach immediately following the review and will be followed-up in writing.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

    Should a community with to appeal a protest decision, the Community Coordinator must submit a request in writing to the SOO Sport and Competition Developer within 24 hours of the original protest. The Appeals Committee will review the request for an appeal to determine if there are grounds for an appeal. If satisfied that there are not sufficient grounds for an appeal, the Committee will notify the Community in writing of its decision. This decision is discretionary and cannot be appealed.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

    If deemed to have sufficient grounds, the Community will be notified immediately and the appeal will be heard as soon as time permits. Once the appeal has been heard the committee will notify the Community in writing of its decision.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

    Grounds for an Appeal
    \n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    An appeal of a protest decision shall only be heard if there are sufficient grounds for the appeal. Sufficient grounds include, but are not limited to:
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Failing to follow SOO procedures
      \n<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Making a decision which was influenced by bias
      \n<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Failing to consider relevant information or taking into account irrelevant information in making the decision
      \n<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Availability of new information not heard during the original protest
      \n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
