ATHLETE RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/span>

    I have the RIGHT<\/strong> to belong to Special Olympics Ontario (SOO).<\/span>
    \n\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/div>\n

    <\/p>\n

    It is my RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong> to uphold its Oath and be dedicated to my sport and my team.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n<\/p><\/li>\n

  2. \n
    I have the RIGHT<\/strong> to be treated fairly and equally.<\/span>
    \n\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/div>\n

    <\/p>\n

    It is my RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong> to know the rules, follow the rules and accept the consequences of ALL my actions.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n<\/p><\/li>\n

  3. \n
    I have the RIGHT<\/strong> to speak and be heard. <\/span>
    \n\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/div>\n

    It is my RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong> to communicate with others respectfully, and not<\/span> to use any foul language or unkind words, or unkind gestures.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

  4. \n
    I have the RIGHT<\/strong> to a qualified and dedicated coach who will respect my rights as an athlete.<\/span>
    \n\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/div>\n

    <\/p>\n

    It is my RESPONSIBILITY <\/strong>to work together with my coach, and respect his or her rights as a coach.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

  5. \n
    I have the RIGHT <\/strong>to enjoy my sport in a safe place and in a safe way. <\/span>
    \n\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/div>\n

    <\/p>\n

    It is my RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong> to tell my coach, or another person I trust, if I feel unsafe.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

  6. \n
    I have the RIGHT<\/strong> to be united in sportsmanship and fair play. <\/span>
    \n\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/div>\n

    <\/p>\n

    It is my RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong> to treat others fairly, encourage sportsmanship and fair play.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  7. \n
    I have the RIGHT <\/strong>to bring to events my personal items and my sports equipment.<\/span>
    \n\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/div>\n

    <\/p>\n

    It is my RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong> to look after my sports equipment and report any theft or damage of my sports equipment to someone I trust. I will not<\/span> take another person’s property.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n

    I have the RIGHT<\/strong> to be respected on and off the field, or wherever I play my sport. <\/span>
    \n\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/div>\n

    <\/p>\n

    It is my RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong> to respect others on and off the field.
    \n<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    I have the RIGHT<\/strong> to be the best I can be and to receive recognition for my successes. <\/span>
    \n\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/div>\n

    <\/p>\n

    It is my RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong> to encourage and support others to do their best.

    \n<\/p><\/li>\n

  10. \n
    I have the RIGHT<\/strong> to win, and if I cannot win, be brave in the attempt.<\/span>

    It is my RESPONSIBILITY <\/strong>to have fun and participate in the sport of my choice in a safe and positive way.
