font-size: 12pt;\">Purpose<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu; font-size: 11pt;\"> To implement and maintain a volunteer placement process (recruitment, interviewing, placement, orientation, training and recognition) within the community.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Qualifications<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Strong leadership, organizational and administrative skills.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Strong written and verbal skills.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Ability to coordinate and delegate tasks.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Experience in interviewing and completing background reference checks.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Volunteer Management knowledge and experience an asset.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Access to a computer and e-mail is strongly recommended.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\"><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Consult with other community council members and coaches to determine their volunteer needs.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Ensure there are complete and accurate job descriptions written and available for all community council members and program positions.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Ensure that all volunteer placement interviewers are trained, qualified and understand the importance of interviewing and background reference checks.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Carry out interviewing, selecting and placement of volunteers as per policy and procedures.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Determine the best way of recruiting volunteers for the clubs and community council.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Ensure the appropriate and most effective methods of recruitment are being utilized.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Liaise with your Provincial Staff Representative in regards to recruitment and recognition strategies.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Keep up to date records of volunteer service (e.g. application forms, volunteer logs, positions held, years of service)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Assist the Provincial Office in distributing years of service awards.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Upon vacating the position all files etc. must be passed on to the new Volunteer Coordinator.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Review and be familiar with sections 1,6,9,10,13 and 18 of the information portal.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">Maintain Special Olympics e-mail address that is provided to you if applicable<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu; font-size: 12pt;\">Time Requirement<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">2-5 hours per week is the estimated time commitment.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu; font-size: 12pt;\">Duration of Position<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Two year term or as per Community by-laws.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu; font-size: 12pt;\">Accountability<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;\">To work in cooperation with the Community Council and the membership.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: Ubuntu;
