Badges on the Border

June 18

On Tuesday June 18, 2019, join the Niagara Regional Police Service, Niagara Parks Police and Canadian Border Services Agency as we carry the Special Olympics Flame of Hope to the middle of the Rainbow Bridge, meeting our American Law Enforcement Brothers and Sisters in support of Special Olympics in Canada and the United States. A small ceremony will take place middle of the bridge before we light the Cauldron joining our Canadian and American Special Olympics Athletes.

All participants can park at the John Street parking lot located at the corner of John Street and Blondin Avenue, Niagara Falls near the Rainbow Bridge.  Participants are asked to be at the John Street parking lot by 10:30am.  The ceremonial Units from our combined agencies will march to the center of the Rainbow Bridge for the ceremony at 11:00am.

Anyone interested in coming onto the Rainbow Bridge to participate or observe the ceremony must have a Nexus card or a Passport.

A small celebration directly follows this event at the Double Tree Hotel in Niagara Falls, NY.
